If you want to get away from it all, head for the smallest of the island, Gili Meno, which has absolutely no nightlife, the most tranquil on the three islands, with a local population of just 300 people. It has swimming beaches all around the island, as well as an impressive bird sanctuary.
Close to the mainland, Gili Air, atmospherically, its sits between lively, social Gili Trawangan and peaceful Gili Meno. On the island (as well as the other two Gilis), there are no motorized vehicles. The main means of transportation are bicycles (rented by locals to tourists) and cidomo (a small horse drawn carriage).
